Terms
Terms of service
These are the website and quote-process terms. The booking contract — the document that governs a confirmed move — is supplied separately with your written quote and takes precedence on its specific clauses.
About this website
This website is published by Twickenham Removals (twickenham-removals.uk). Using the site or sending an enquiry through it means you accept the terms set out below. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use the site.
Quote requests
Sending details through the quote form starts an enquiry — it isn’t a contract. Once we receive it we’ll be in touch to understand the move, often with a short video or in-person survey, and then send you a written quote. A booking exists only once you accept that written quote and we confirm the date back to you in writing.
A written quote stays valid for thirty days from the date we issue it, unless we say otherwise in writing. After that it may be reviewed if the details of the move or underlying costs have changed.
The booking contract
When you accept a quote, we issue a booking contract that governs the move itself — payment, deposit, cancellation, refunds, liability, claims and the limits of our responsibility for goods in transit and in storage. Key contract durations include:
- A fourteen-day window in which you may cancel for any reason and have your deposit refunded in full, unless the move date itself falls inside that window.
- A seven-day window after delivery in which any claim for missing or damaged items must be reported to us in writing.
- A payment deadline of seven days from the date of the booking invoice, with the balance due before pickup.
These durations are legally specific because they need to be. They’re mirrored here only for awareness — the booking contract is the authoritative document.
Pricing and changes
The written quote is the price you pay. We don’t bolt on charges for blankets, tape or the out-of-hours windows that should have been priced in from the start. A quote can only change after acceptance if you ask us to add work that wasn’t in the original brief, the contents materially exceed what was recorded at survey, or access at either end has changed since we looked. Anything like that is discussed with you before it’s applied.
Liability and insurance
Twickenham Removals carries goods-in-transit and public liability cover appropriate to the moves we run; the booking contract sets out the limits and exclusions. Items of unusual value — antiques, fine art, jewellery, instruments — should be declared when you brief us so we can arrange the right level of protection. Undisclosed high-value items can’t be reflected in a claim.
Customs and international moves
For a European move you’ll be asked to provide the inventory and personal documentation the destination country’s customs authority requires. We prepare and lodge the customs paperwork on your behalf, but responsibility for the accuracy of the declaration sits with you as the owner of the goods.
